This was in an administrative office.
Kinda says it all.

Open house huh? So are you putting in an offer?

It’s true...but only the first time. If you have to google how to do it a second time then you are merely useless.

Well, that makes school pretty useless now, doesn’t it?

Clearly from the mind of an administrator.

I think school’s been making itself useless. I’m now a junior in college and 90% of everything I’ve been taught has basically nothing to do with my major.

I thought it meant being able to google pretty much whatever you wanted to, including nude midget bowling.

Yes, but also knowing when to.

Nah, turns out they don’t have a pool.

Why not both?

Yeah, glad I found out now before we paid all that tuition.

There is a lot to be said for being well rounded. The longer one’s life, the more of it is spent outside one’s major.

that is disappointing... I guarantee the engineers that worked on the new 992 did not “just googled how to do stuff”

True, but most of it is non-
sense. It’s like playing a matching game. There’s no inherent
meaning or value in the pairs, you just have to know which phrase matches with the correct one.

What makes us adult is deciding which of the Google responses are rubbish, which is something that a school might do well to teach.

I’m sure you’re right. I’m taking it in the spirit with which I am sure it was intended. This is a really good school.

Some things just don’t come with an instruction manual and doing good research is rarely fatal.

I have to agree, when I was in college I was only required to take 4 market ing electives (my major), but I also had to take 2 social sciences, 2 physical sciences, 2 history classes, and a bunch of other non business classes. Yes it is nice to be well rounded, but I would have much preferred to take all of the available marketing courses, instead of Astronomy and Archaeology 101 classes that I forgot everything I learned a month after finals.

We kind of do though...the difference is knowing how to apply said “stuff”
It’s one thing to look up the equation for thermal stress , it’s another to apply it.
